Recipe for oat biscuits with chocolate

Homemade chocolate chip cookies - an irresistible combination that can turn even a bad day into a good one. And did you know there's a way to keep biscuits fresher for longer? Keep reading.

For about 15 pieces you will need:

170 g butter
140 g cane sugar
1 whole egg
1 egg yolk
170 g plain flour
80 g oat flakes
100 g dark chocolate
½ teaspoon of salt
½ teaspoon of baking soda

The process:

Melt and let the butter brown in a saucepan. Pour into a bowl, allow to cool slightly, add sugar and stir.
Add the egg and egg yolk to the mixture and stir.
Then add the rest of the ingredients, except the chocolate.
Chop the chocolate into small pieces and gently fold into the batter.
Shape the dough into biscuits, place on a baking sheet covered with baking paper spaced far enough apart.
Bake for 11 minutes in a preheated oven at 180°C, until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.

How to keep biscuits fresh longer?

Homemade biscuits often quickly become stale or lose their crispiness if they are not stored properly. That's where our beeswax bags come in, which are ideal for storing these treats.

  • Allow the biscuits to cool completely before placing them in the bag. This will prevent condensation and preserve their crispiness.
  • Place the biscuits in the beeswax bag. Due to the elasticity of the wax, you can adjust the bag to fit snugly around the biscuits, minimising air infiltration and keeping them fresher for longer.
  • Store in a cool and dry place.

Using BajaBee® beeswax bags will not only keep your biscuits fresher for longer, but will also help to reduce waste from single-use plastic packaging. It's a simple but effective step towards a lifestyle that's more in tune with nature.
