How to store bread in beeswax wraps

BajaBee® beeswax wraps and bags, a natural and ecological alternative to traditional plastic packaging, are increasingly popular not only for their environmental friendliness, but also for their excellent food storage properties. One of the most common uses of beewax wraps and bags is bread storage. They help keep it fresh and at the same time reduce the amount of waste from disposable packaging.

When storing bread in beeswax wraps, it is important to follow a few basic rules. In particular, it is important that the bread is completely cooled before packing it in a beeswax wrap or bag to prevent condensation of moisture, which could cause it to get wet and moldy.

We recommend opening the bread wrapped in a beeswax bag or wrap at least once a day to allow the bread to "breathe". This simple step will ensure that the bread retains its ideal softness without unnecessary drying, dampening or moulding.

It is important to mention that not all types of bread are suitable for storage in beeswaxed wraps. Breads baked from frozen half-baked products or those of lesser quality that tend to harden or mould quickly are not ideal for this type of storage. Such breads should be consumed within the first two days of being baked.

When using beeswax wraps and bags, it is a very good idea to ensure their proper maintenance. After use, rinse them in cold water and eco-friendly dish soap and allow to dry thoroughly before using again. This will ensure that your besswax packaging last a long time and contribute to a more sustainable way of life.
