How to refresh beeswax wraps and bags?

To repair your beeswax wraps and bags, you can use our WorkerBee beeswax blend WorkerBee. It's a mixture of beeswax, resin, and jojoba oil, which we also use in production.

This worker bee product can help restore your used beeswax wraps and bags that have lost their shape and stickiness. One package of WorkerBee is enough to restore three XL beeswax wraps or six M-sized beeswax wraps, depending on the level of wear and tear. We recommend starting with two or three bees, and if you find that to be insufficient, you can add more.

How to rewax BajaBee beeswax wrap

Instructions:

You can repair beeswax wraps and bags using either an iron or an oven.

Iron method:

Prepare an ironing board and cover it with an old towel or fabric (for extra protection). Place a piece of parchment paper on the ironing board, then put the BajaBee beeswax wrap or beeswax bag on top of it. Arrange the WorkerBee beeswax pellets on the beeswax wrap or bag and cover it with another piece of parchment paper. Set the iron to medium or high heat and make sure to turn off the steam. Place the iron on the parchment paper and watch as the WorkerBee beeswax melts. Use the iron to evenly spread the melted wax to the edges of the fabric. Carefully lift the beeswax wrap or bag by the corners and peel it off the parchment paper. If you're repairing a beeswax bag, separate the walls of the bag and let it solidify for 10 seconds. Be careful not to allow the sides of the bag to stick back together. If that happens, re-iron the bag through the parchment paper and repeat the process.

Oven method:

Preheat your oven to around 80 °C (176 °F). Place a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet, then lay the beeswax wrap or beeswax bag on the paper. Evenly distribute the WorkerBee beeswax pellets over it. Place it in the oven and let the wax fully absorb into the fabric. Then, carefully remove it, following the same process as with the iron method, and let it cool for 10 seconds.
